Summer League 2010!
by Paul Hanna
Attention Austin Frisbites:
Austin's Competitive Summer League has reached its midpoint, which means Austin’s [Regular] Summer League is just weeks away. For those who remember previous years, you’ll recall great competition, awesome lighted fields, outrageous themes, great team camaraderie, low cost, and cool, breezy Austin summer nights.
Okay, that last part is a flat out lie, but the rest makes it well worth it! Sign ups open soon, and they won’t last long, so clear your calendars, throw a couple of water bottles in the freezer and get ready for Austin Summer League 2010. The theme is still in the works, but keep your eyes open for something brilliant.
League begins Tuesday, July 13th, and runs for eight straight weeks. Plus, if you visit the UPLA home site (http://upla.austinultimate.org), you can add the dates directly to your calendar on the super sweet sidebar! Pretty cool stuff. The location is the familiar East Metropolitan Park in beautiful Manor, TX. The drive is a relaxing 30 minutes from Austin proper – plenty of time to bond with your teammates or network with some of the wonderful members of the Austin Ultimate community, all while saving some cash and petrol.
Sign-ups will open very soon, and it’s open to everyone! Also, if you consider yourself "captain material", think about checking that box when time comes. Thanks!
