Women's Shootout

The third year of Women’s Shootout was a big success. Though weather around Austin was grim, the Intramural fields were open. This year the tournament served as pre-World’s practice bringing Riot, Fury, Zeigest and the home team, Showdown. Each team practiced the WUCC rules which slightly vary from 11th edition.
Having a small bracket with only 6 teams, they played round robin with all teams playing each other once before heading straight to semis. In bracket play, Showdown won against Zeigest, but on Sunday in the 3rd place game, Zeigest took the win.
When Riot played Fury on Saturday, they lost by a sizeable margin 13-4, but on Sunday in the finals, the game was much closer with Fury barely retaining the the win at 16-14. Fury went home happy with their continued dominance and their $1000 prize money.
